Tamanna busy in Aegan

In a short span of time, Tamanna has shot to glory in Tamil cinema. Though, she began in a bad start with 'Kedi' and 'Vyapari', Kallori brought a tidal change in her career. Her performance in the movie was highly acclaimed and she was soon flooded with offers.

She is acting with Surya in 'Ayan', produced by AVM and directed by K V Anand, followed by the Dhanush starrer 'Padikathavan'. 'Anandha Thandavam' opposite a newcomer Siddharth and a Telugu film 'Konjam Ishtamga and Konjam Kashtamga'.

'I watched 'Khaakha Khaakha' and became a great fan of Suriya. I was thrilled when I was called to act in 'Ayan' with Surya. Similarly I am excited to work in the Tamil remake of 'Jab We Met' opposite Bharath. I don the role enacted by Kareena in the original,' she says.

Though I get offers in different languages, my priority is to do movies in Tamil. I am getting good offers here, she adds.

Surya in Ayan fight scenes

A grand set has been constructed for the Surya starrer 'Ayan' at Binny mills in Chennai for the making of a fight sequence. Directed by K.V. Anand, the movie is being produced by AVM productions, a production company that holds the accolade for making movies since a few decades from the past.

Surya is pitted against Tamanna, the actress who gave a graceful performance in 'Kalloori'. The cargo landing bay in an airport has been envisaged by art director Rajeevan in which a stunt scene was shot for four continuous days. Kanal Kannan choreographed the action in which Surya enacted a cooked up fight against the henchmen of the Villain, played by Bollywood actor Akashdeep Saigal.

Consequently, the end sequence for 'Ayan' is planned to be shot in South Africa by November. It is proposed to be made in a canyon near to Cape Town. Industry talks say that about one fifth of the estimated budget for this movie is to be spent on filming this grand finale.

Sivakumar's advice to son Surya and Karthik

This is that period of time in the Tamil film world that almost every hero wants to sport a six-pack-ab. After Shahrukh Khan displayed this supposed 'macho feature' in the film 'Om Shanti Om', almost every actor wants to sport one. Though surprising, Dhanush started it all in Tamil films displaying his abdomen in the film 'Polladhavan'.

Surya decided to workout in order to obtain a six-pack-ab for Gautham Menon's 'Varanam Aayiram'. Since he had got into shape and it looked appealing on him, he wanted to continue with that look for his next project 'Ayan'. Now that his shooting portion for the film is over, reports suggest that he is back to his normal diet and workout.

Vishal had the packs for 'Satyam'. Looks like actors 'Jayam' Ravi and Vijay Arun too want to sport six-packs and are currently working out.

At a function recently, Sivakumar met these young actors and was aghast to see their cheeks all sunken-in with an unhealthy look (the side effects in sporting a six-pack ab). On returning home, the veteran actor known to endorse a healthy body, got hold of his second son Karthik and spoke to him at length against entertaining any thoughts of having a six-pack.

Ayan Surya Fight Scene

Then foreign cameras and cameramen were introduced. Now Tamil cinema has gone so far as to bring in stunt masters from overseas. The car chase scene in 'Sathyam' is by foreign stunt masters and technicians.

In 'Dasavataram,' 3 self defense artistes from abroad participated. This trend continues in Susi Ganesan's 'Kandasamy' and K V Anand's 'Ayan' starring Surya in the lead. A song was recently shot in Africa with Surya and Tamanna, as well as a fight of Surya with villains.

The stunts in 'Ayan' are by Kanal Kannan. The scenes in Africa are by Kanal Kannan collaborating with a local stunt master. African stunt men also are featured in this fight scene.

‘Ayan’: Team

We all are now aware that after Suriya's 'Varanam Aayiram' with Goutham Menon. Suriya will next be seen in 'Ayan'.

'Ayan' will see Suriya and 'Kalloori' fame Tamanna playing the main characters. This film will be directed by K.V. Anand and the cinematography for this film will be by M.S. Prabhu. It worthy to say that it was K.V. Anand who was responsible for the cinematography of the superstar's super grosser 'Sivaji-The Boss'.

Now, what many are not aware is that K.V. Anand and M.S. Prabhu have worked as juniors to ace cinematographer and national award winner P.C. Sriram who has been a mentor to some of the top cinematographers in the Indian film industry, some of whom include the director of this film K.V. Anand, Tirru and Jeeva, the director of 'Unnale Unnale' who is now no more.

Both the friends have tasted success and are on their journey to more success. With this film 'Ayan' the two disciples of a great master will be getting together.

Let us hope that this film brings some new ideas to direction as well as cinematography.

Actor Surya's next venture for AVM Productions commenced recently amidst much fanfare. Titled Ayan, this film is directed by cinematographer-turned-director K.V. Anand. The team will fly down to South Africa to shoot a song sequence with Surya and his on-screen pair Tamanna. Sources say that the director has already done his homework by scouting for good locations in those areas.

Ayan is about a 23-year-old youth trying to meet his goals in life. It would be interesting to see how Surya has toned himself to fit into the role as insiders say that he has taken extra efforts to shed weight to look that young.
